About the Position
As the Global General Manager, you will have responsibility for ALS Inspection Service’s strategic planning and commercial success; growing revenue and margin through market development. You will also provide leadership and support to teams across the business, drive sales and optimise operations by ensuring cost effectiveness and ROS.
The position will be responsible for:
- The financial performance and profitable growth of the Global Inspection business, whilst ensuring compliance and best practice methods are adhered to. Full P&L responsibility for the global business.
- Building a Professional Team which is recognised as a service leader within the sector
- Mentor and develop the senior management team, with particular emphasis on direct reports and key staff members
- Develop strategy and Business Plans, to ensure growth and continuous improvement of the Global Inspection Group
- Foster and steer a culture of professional and accountable business development and account management
- Ensuring EBIT targets are consistently reached
- Building key global inspection and testing networks to maximise business development opportunities and company promotion within the sector
- Ensuring group laboratories run to excellent productivity levels and provide optimal service, quality and turn-around-time
- Inspiring a culture of innovation and entrepreneurism
- Ultimate responsibility for HR, HSE, Quality, Sustainability and Governance standards across the Inspection Services group
About you
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Minimum of 7 years in a senior management or leadership role within the TIC industry and/or ideally within commodity trading environment; preferably having direct experience of the minerals and metals inspection and testing industry.
- Successfully managed P&L responsibilities
- The ability to work under pressure and to strict deadlines
- Strategic Planning/Thinking and Implementation Abilities
- Proven leadership skills and attributes
- Negotiation, influencing and conflict resolution skills
Demonstrate a successful track record of leading, influencing and motivating a multinational and multi-cultural team that is geographically dispersed.
- Availability to travel globally as part of the role
- Multi-lingual would be an advantage but not essential. Fluency in English is essential (written and verbal).
