WMSoc Conference: L8 & HSG 274 one year on.....

Apr 17, 2015

ALS Environmental will be exhibiting at the upcoming Water Management Society (WMSoc) conference which will be focusing on the impact brought about by changes to ACoP L8 and the introduction of HSG 274 in 2013. The WMSoc conference will be taking place on Thursday 23rd April 2015 at the British Motorcycle Museum in Birmingham, West Midlands, with registration from 09:30.

The WMSoc conference will come just days after ALS Environmental find out if we have been successful at the Water Industry Achievement (WIA) Awards for our work with MALDI-ToF for rapid Legionella and Microbiological confirmations which is both UKAS and DWTS accredited. The MALDI-ToF offers several key advantages over the traditional culture method including:

  • Time saving of 2 days for positive Legionella
  • Full Legionella speciation
  • Over 50 Legionella species opposed to <20 with traditional agglutination kits
  • No more presumptive results.

Among the speakers at the WMSoc conference entitled "L8 & HSG 274 one year on" will be members of the Health and Safety Executive, Public Health England and representatives from Local Authorities and industry. Regarding attending the conference, ALS Environmental's Sales & Marketing Manager Nick Barsby comments:

The WMSoc events always attract a high calibre of both presenters and delegates. Being at the forefront of water analysis for chemistry, microbiology, and in particular Legionella; we feel that attending events such as this allows us to deliver a market leading level of service and knowledge to our clients..
