Successful LCA audit for ALS Environmental
Jan 27, 2014
ALS Environmental have successfully passed our bi-annual Legionella Control Association (LCA) audit, a fundamental part of retaining our LCA membership. The audit covered all aspects of our analytical process and the auditor was impressed with the general level of service offered by ALS.
The control of Legionella is covered in the Health and Safety at work act 1974, and more specific guidance available in the recently updated ACOP L8 along with the introduction of HSG274. The guidance, and the LCA website, states that analysis of samples should be undertaken by a laboratory accredited through UKAS to EN ISO/IEC 17025:2005.
Pervinder Johal, ALS Environmental Microbiology Manager states:
“It is always pleasing to have a successful audit from an external body. The LCA are always very thorough in their reviews of our systems and gave us some very positive and encouraging feedback on our latest developments and upcoming plans”
ALS Environmental have a dedicated Legionella laboratory in Coventry which is able to process over 20,000 Legionella samples per month and has a similar capacity for associated bacteriological parameters including:
