Extended MCERTS Accreditation for Metals Analysis
Feb 6, 2015
ALS Environmental are pleased to announce that our method WAS060 for the determination of Low Level Metals by Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS) is now accredited for the analysis of Treated Sewage Effluents, Untreated Sewage and Trade Effluents to ISO/IEC 17025 and the MCERTS (waters) Performance Standard.
MCERTS is the Environment Agency’s Monitoring Certification Scheme and provides formal accreditation in accordance with European and international standards. It is an Environment Agency requirement that data assessed for regulatory purposes is accredited to the MCERTS Performance Standard. To achieve MCERTS accreditation, we are required to undertake a significant validation study to ensure that the method meets the stringent performance targets of the scheme.
Inorganics Manager at ALS Environmental, Christopher Law, comments:
“The addition of our Low Level Metals method into our MCERTS portfolio demonstrates our commitment to providing the highest quality service within the Environmental analysis sector.”
The analysis and monitoring of metallic parameters is key to all water testing that is reported to the Environmental Agency (EA) under a broad portfolio of regulations including but not limited to the Water Framework Directive (WFD), Discharge Consent and the Ground Water Regulations (1998).
By holding one of the broadest scopes of UKAS ISO 17025:2005 accreditation in the Environmental sector, ALS Environmental is your ideal analytical service partner. In addition to laboratory analysis we can also offer Environmental Sampling Technicians, Equipment for Hire and Senior Field Chemists to help support your monitoring and analytical needs.
