DWTS Accreditation for Drinking Water Sampling
Mar 4, 2015
ALS Environmental are delighted to announce that we have extended the scope of our sampling accreditation to include Drinking Water Testing Specification (DWTS) accreditation for Drinking Water sampling. The extension to scope, granted by the UKAS accreditation body, means that ALS Environmental are one of a select group of laboratories who are commerically able to offer DWTS accredited sampling, analysis and reporting to the Drinking Water Inspectorate (DWI) standard.
ALS Environmental have been sampling and analysing Drinking Water for over 20 years. We have two DWTS accredited laboratories in the UK. The majority of testing of Drinking Water is undertaken at our "Centre of Excellence" in Wakefield, Yorkshire, with microbiology and Cryptosporidium capability mirrored by our Coventry laboratory. Furthermore, ALS Group has two DWTS accredited laboratories in Sittingbourne and Trowbridge, this demonstrates our commitment to protecting Public Health.
The ALS Environmental Field Services team offer support to the Utility Companies with fully accredited samplers for the Operator Self Monitoring (OSM) and Urban Waste Water (UWW) sampling and MCERTS accredited analysis.
Our Field Services team are now able to offer DWTS accredited services for the following:
- Sampling for Private Water Supplies
- Sampling for Drinking Water
- Onsite Chlorine analysis
The extension to scope follows the ALS Core Values of "hard work and continuous improvement" and "doing things better". Upon the extension to scope Greg Hopkins, Field Services Manager, states:
We have always strived to deliver the best service levels to our clients and increasing our accreditation portfolio to include DWTS underlines our determination to provide the highest levels of service to our customers.
