Coventry Laboratory Retain OHSAS 18001 Certification

ALS Environmental are pleased to announce that following a recent audit at our Coventry laboratory we have retained our Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series (OHSAS) 18001 certification. BS OHSAS 18001 is a British Standard for occupational Health and Safety (H&S) management systems and is recognised as being the basis for proactively managing and resolving H&S issues.
The Coventry ALS Laboratory has held OHSAS 18001 certification for over 6 years and our retention of this certification demonstrates our commitment to Health and Safety. The current version of the standard is OHSAS 18001:2007.
The OHSAS 18001 standard specifies a number of key criteria for an organisation to demonstrate and includes:
- Planning for hazard identification, risk assessment and risk control
- Structure and responsibility
- Training, awareness and competence
- Consultation and communication
- Operational control
- Emergency preparedness and response
- Performance measuring, monitoring and improvement
