ALS Shortlisted for Combating Legionella Award

ALS Environmental are delighted to announce that we have been shortlisted for the HVN Combating Legionella Award for Supplier of the Year. The Combating Legionella event takes place at Villa Park on Thursday 22nd and Friday 23rd September 2016 and ALS Environmental, along with being shortlisted for an award, will be present at the conference exhibition.
ALS Environmental have been nominated for the HVN award for Supplier of the Year for our development with MALDI-ToF confirmations which allows ALS to offer customers instant and informative confirmations of Legionella and other bacteria.
The MALDI-ToF confirmation approach was first applied in the Environmental sector of the UK analytical market by ALS in January 2014 when the apporach was approved and ISO 17025 accredited by UKAS. Further to UKAS accreditation ALS Environmental also had the method Drinking Water Testing Specification (DWTS) accredited for Drinking Water analysis. Since this point we have invested heavily in improving our database of bacteria to offer customers which has seen ALS become one of the few UK laboratories to offer full genus and species level confirmations of:

By offering MALDI-ToF confirmations as part of our standard approach ALS Environmental have set the market standards for Microbiological testing for the UK. By offering these tests with both UKAS and DWTS accreditation, where applicable, we are helping our customers in fight against Legionella and associated microbial contamination.
