ALS Environmental to Exhibit at WRC Innovation Day
Apr 12, 2016
The WRc Innovation Day is in its fifth year, with the theme of this year's event being "Sharing Knowledge for a Changing World". The conference will be taking place on Wednesday 27th April 2016 and ALS Environmental are delighted to announce, that for the second consecutive year, we will be one of the exhibitors on site on the day. The ALS team will have demonstrations of our instant and informative confirmation technique for microbiology, MALDI-ToF, portable XRF for metals analysis and our SiteLAB UVF 3100D for rapid OnSite Hydrocarbon testing on show for all delegates..
The aim of the Innovation Day is to explore how our business world needs to adapt to changing forms of communication, behaviour and advances in light of new technology. The event will explore questions such as:
- How do we need to adapt our own behaviours to make best use of this new digital era?
- What new technologies and processes can we implement to move our businesses forward?
- How can the circular economy be a driver for change?
By providing instant and informative microbiology confirmations using our MALDI-ToF technique, ALS Environmental have reduced the confirmation time for over 99% of our bacteriological analysis; by having this approach both UKAS and DWTS accredited we are adapting our behaviour in light of new methodological advancements.
ALS Environmental also support our customers with a range of OnSite tools to allow for rapid decisions to be made on site. The Portable XRF unit allows customers, once trained by one of our RPS's, to analyse solid samples for metals content, with the data being available to the user in seconds; while our UVF3100D SiteLAB instrument enables clients to have analytical data for Hydrocarbons in soils or waters in <20 minutes in the field.
Representing ALS Environmental at the WRc Innovation Day will be Nick Barsby, our Sales and Marketing Manager who is one of our RPS trained staff, and Talvinder Chohan, a member of our Business Development team who was also involved in the validation and development of the MALDI-ToF technique. Upon attending the event Nick comments:
It's a real privilege to be invited back to exhibit at the WRc Innovation Day. We found the event last year was very informative with a lot of interest in our analytical services as well as OnSite tools. Since last year we have been developing our microbiological libraries to ensure that ALS stays ahead of the curve in the rapid confirmation field.
