The WRc Innovation Day is one of the leading innovation events in the UK and an event that continues to grow year on year! The theme for the 2015 event is “Innovation in Action” and ALS Environmental are proud to have been successful in having two demonstration showcases at the event. The Innovation Day takes place on Wednesday 29^th April 2015 in Swindon, Wiltshire.

The two successful demonstrations put forward by ALS Environmental are OnSite Analytical Tools and MALDI-ToF Confirmations.

The OnSite tools demonstration will be undertaken by Dr James Taylor who will be explaining to visitors the potential benefits of our Equipment Hire fleet including Portable XRF (for instantaneous metals analysis) and SiteLAB UVF 3100 (for rapid hydrocarbon analysis including PAH, BTEX, GRO & DRO).

The MALDI-ToF demonstration showcase will be presented by Nick Barsby, who recently had an article on the ESKAPE Pathogens published in both Waterline and Hospital Bulletin. The MALDI-ToF confirmation approach allows ALS Environmental to offer instant confirmed results and speciation at both a genus and species level. We achieve this by using traditional culture plate methods and confirm all bacteria using the MALDI-ToF approach.
