ALS Environmental Pass 18001 Audit
Jan 26, 2015
Following an audit by the British Standards Institute (BSI) ALS Environmental can today confirm that we have successfully retained out Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series (OHSAS) 18001 certification. The 18001 certification looks at all aspects of Occupational Health and Safety to help organisations identify risks and minimise the any potential health and safety impact of these associated risks to staff.
As part of the audit process for certification ALS Environmental had to demonstrate:
- Documentation control
- Records being kept
- Staff and management conformance to the system
- Implementation of operational controls
- How the system is working in each area of the organisation
- Staff training necessary to meet the requirements
The certification, which covers the ALS Environmental sites at Coventry, Wakefield and Chester, is a testament to the hard work and effort from our Health and Safety team which recently saw ALS Environmental pass over 12 months without a Long Term Injury (LTI) incident.
Christopher Caird, Health Safety Environmental and Quality Director for ALS Environmental, comments:
Providing a safe working environment for our staff is critical to the on-going success of any business. Our audits from the BSI for our OHSAS 18001 accreditation allow a 3rd party to audit our systems and procedures to help us deliver a safe laboratory for our staff to analyse our customers samples in.
