ALS Environmental Exhibiting at LCA Open Day 2017
Oct 13, 2017
ALS Environmental are proud to announce we will be exhibiting at the Legionella Control Association Open Day 2017 on the 2nd November at The Drayton Manor Hotel, Tamworth. The LCA is a voluntary organisation whose membership assists providers of services and products that are involved in the control of legionella in their water systems. The primary aim of these members, and associates, is to keep the water safe and minimise the risk in their systems of Legionnaires' disease caused by them being poorly maintained.
ALS Environmental have been members of the LCA for over a decade and our Sales & Marketing Manager Nick Barsby is an LCA Committee Member. Membership is seen across the industry as increasingly imperative in proving a commitment to high standards of service. ALS are proud to have this long-standing association with the LCA and this demonstrates our pledge to the Water Treatment Industry in helping to raise standards and adhere to best practice.
There are numerous topics being discussed by guest speakers at this remarkable event. 'ISO 11731:2017 Water quality - Enumeration of Legionella', 'Other Water Bourne Pathogens', 'Legionella sample size changes to reporting requirements' & 'HSG282: The control of Legionella and other infectious agents in spa-pool systems' are just a few of the subjects being presented to delegates. ALS Environmental are proud to be represented by Nick Barsby & Bjorn Nielsen and we are delighted to reveal that they will both be speaking at this event. Bjorn's presentation is 'ISO 11731:2017 Water quality - Enumeration of Legionella' and Nick will be presenting about 'Other Water Bourne Pathogens'.
To help you in meeting your Legionella requirements ALS Environmental are able to offer two types of Legionella testing. Detection by Standard Culture, based on ISO 11731:1998 utilising our MALDI-ToF instant confirmation and Enumeration of Legionella by Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR). Both techniques can identify Legionella pneumophila and Legionella species, with the MALDI-ToF providing a full Legionella speciation.
Please find our Legionella Testing Services Brochure here.
Unfortunately Legionella is not the only risk in your water supply. At ALS Environmental we are also able to offer our customers further water borne pathogens analysis. The ESKAPE pathogens area greater concern due to their antibiotic resistant nature. Utilising MALDI-ToF technology we are able to provide instant confirmed counts of these bacteria with a full speciation, if required.
