AGS award - Contaminated Land Working Group

Geraint Williams, Associate and technical lead at ALS Hawarden, has recently received an award from the AGS (the Association of Geotechnical and Geoenvironmental Specialists) for his ‘invaluable work and ongoing contributions’ to the Association.
Geraint has over 24 years’ experience within the contaminated land industry and regularly advises ALS’s clients on a wide range of UK projects. He has served on the Executive Committee of the Society of Brownfield Risk Assessment (SoBRA) and currently participates in specialist groups including SoBRA’s vapour intrusion subgroup. ALS were recently awarded a research contract by the Construction Industry Research and Information Association (CIRIA) to write the UK’s first guidance on PFAS and Geraint will draft the laboratory analysis sections. He is also a regular organiser, chair and presenter at conferences and well as representing ALS on the AGS’s contaminated land working group.
The AGS is a not-for-profit trade association established to improve the profile and quality of geotechnical and geoenvironmental engineering. The membership comprises UK organisations and individuals having a common interest in the business of ground investigation, geotechnics, geoenvironmental engineering, engineering geology, geochemistry, hydrogeology, and other related disciplines.
